I am an Eagle Scout and was involved with Scouting for over 30 years. Scouting has lead me to ventures in audio, lighting, and video production from the local to the national level. I’ve also helped train new Scout leaders. My children became involved in community theatre through Northeast Alabama Community College Theatre. I did stage crew, set construction, and acted in over 13 productions, including main roles in Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserable, and Second Samuel.
One of my previous jobs was videographer for weddings and other live events. In the late 90’s I filmed a high school production of The Music Man and was hooked on barbershop. Later, I would take my son to a Scout Festival Day where one of the exhibitors was a barbershop quartet teaching the Scouts about music, and I got to sing a tag on tenor. It wasn’t until 2018 when I finally made my way to a rehearsal and joined BHS. I’ve sung with 3 choruses, Rocket City Chorus, Music City Chorus, and Choo Choo Chorus, and have sung with 4 quartets at contest. I’m excited to be on stage with Music City Chorus in Charlotte this summer for International Competition. Currently I serve as webmaster for Chattanooga and the Dixie District, and assist with Nashville. I am also the member-at-large for the district. Next year, I will hopefully be a candidate for Admin Judge for BHS. Don’t be shy, come sing a tag with me.
