Our singing at the Naturalization ceremony never fails to pull on our patriotic strings. We were well received as always.
Our post-Show rehearsal numbers were down, but we need to commit to attending the next few weeks in preparation for Fall Convention. Hope everyone will be able to join us in Oxford, AL. SteveG
Thanks again to all of you who made the show such a success. I hope we can take what we did on the show and continue to get better each week!
We have begun our preparation for the fall convention and contest. Please let me know ASAP if you CANNOT go and sing with us in Oxford in Spetember.
This Thursday we will plan to have some sectional rehearsals and some push out quartets/octets. Be prepared to join in!
Bring someone with you this week! I'll see YOU on Thursday! Jimmy
A Naturalization Memory From Our Past President |
I recall the memories and the patriotic feelings of those seeking to become citizens, and the lunch at the Chattanooga Restaurant when we would sing to the waitresses, then back to sing again. Judge Collier loved us and we added GBA to end the ceremony.
The Judge invited us to his retirement ceremony to sing and remain for the reception. We were off to Atlanta for contest, but Chuck offered to stay for the reception.Rich Ptacin (Immediate Past President)
