Exciting news! Quartet contest is March 10, at Ponders. Arrive at 7, draw names randomly from a hat to determine who is on which q’tet, then draw a slip from the hat to find out which polecat you will be singing. An existing q’tet may also compete so long as they not a registered q’tet. Prizes will be awarded to everyone in a winning q’tet. Judges will consider your ability to remember all the words and/or all the notes, your ”face” or lack of one, and doing all those things Jimmy has been teaching us. Also, judges will encourage bribes, gifts, beverages, etc., to sway their votes. Anyone may tell a joke at anytime, but no prizes for jokes. A fun nite with your friends, doing what we love to do: sing. Bill
Ringgold High School Report |
The pay-off for me as a volunteer doorman at Ringgold High was seeing the great show. It was a musical, "Catch me If You Can." With a large cast and great singers and dancers, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. If you had gone, it would have been the best $10 you would have spent on entertainment. I marveled at the choreography and costumes. They presented five shows; all of them well-attended. And as we barbershoppers know the theater was beautiful! BarryO
I put up the attached flier around the high school to see if we could attract some new singers. Check it out. RichW
